Oneness

video

POP celebrates its first anniversary today & so here is a timely & tumultuous track for you -- it is audio only -- the song Memento Mori, by DRY RIB with special guest Mr. Paul Kendall on the alto sax & at the trusty Revoxii.

And your birthday boy is in The Sunday Paper out of Atlanta today, talking a little bit to journalist Kevin Moreau about Palin, politics & pop culture, in an article titled 'Pop The Vote'.

We should like to thank Sara Bassett for her research & tech help with the blog over the last few months, and Michael Robertson for all his words of encouragement. POP also offers extra bag-it-up gratitude to David Silver for being an inspiring force behind this blog. Others have helped too, but we can't imagine that anyone wants to read a newbie blogger like moi going all academy awards on you of a Sunday, listing all the people without whom.

However it has indeed been an October of surprises and the prof should also thank David for introducing him to the rather marvellous Susan Hellein -- the writer musician blogger comedienne & Bukowski fan who is also, sadly, the winner of the Operation Girlfriend booby prize this year.

Well, that's one cornucopiac post.

So:

1) Congrats on your wunderjahr, which milestone is the mark of addiction. The voyage of a thousand posts is well begun.

2)"Crypto-fascist" is very fine, and the point that encapsulating the monster in satiric form may somehow divert us from what lies beneath the foolishness-- Mistah Kurtz he a bundle of yuks -- yeah well pretty good. I've read that Bush the Lesser profited from SNL treatment back in 2000.

3) Hmmm. Booby prize in the girlfriend sweepstakes. This is a theme on which we expect you to expound and perhaps present.

4) Can't be a four. The Rule of Three forbids it.

Oh I am the booby prize. Perhaps that was not clear.
